A fine example of an early 20th-century wall-mounted pendulum clock featuring an engraved brass dial and classic oak cabinet design. The case exhibits late Edwardian to early Art Deco styling, with brass mounts and bevelled glass to the lower pendulum door. The clock was likely manufactured in Britain or Germany during the interwar period, and it represents the craftsmanship of the era’s domestic and institutional timepieces. Historical Discovery: Inside the case was found an original Canadian Red Cross Prisoner of War Food Parcel label, used during the Second World War (1939–1945). This specific label type was affixed to wooden crates containing humanitarian food parcels sent by the Canadian Red Cross through the International Red Cross Committee to Allied prisoners held in Axis camps. The presence of this label strongly suggests that part of the clock’s case — likely a rear or internal panel — was repaired or replaced post-war using reclaimed wood from a Red Cross parcel crate.
